Lifestyle Eating and Performance Program
for Food Sensitivity Dietary Managment
LEAP is offered for patients who have tried standard medical therapy but do not have improved symptoms commonly in patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Migraine, Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and other food sensitivity related conditions.
Food Sensitivity
Food sensitivity, also known as “delayed food allergy”, causes delayed onset symptoms which usually are chronic and sometimes acute. The immunologic mechanisms of food sensitivities are different from food allergies. Reaction of food sensitivities are often dosage dependent, whereas a tiny bit of allergic food triggers reaction in people with food allergy.
LEAP stands for Lifestyle Eating And Performance. The LEAP program was developed by a team of dietitians, physicians, immunologists and other health professionals with extensive experience in treating health problem associated food sensitivities. Any food or chemical can potentially be reactive and may cause a problem with one person but not another. Thus, an individualized approach is the most appropriate and effective.
What is the process of the LEAP program?
After you have your initial consultation with Katrin, a MRT (Mediator Release Test), a patented blood test, is performed to identify which food or chemical is causing you the problem. Then Katrin will combine the MRT results and other dietary information that you provided to develop a food reintroduction schedule specifically for you. Before and during different phases, Katrin, as a Certified LEAP Therapist, will assist you with the transition, meal planning and any nutrition issues.
How can LEAP make you feel better?
By identifying and eliminating the foods and food substances which are triggering the immune system reactions, you can experience a tremendous improvement in the way you feel.
If you want to know whether LEAP can improve your refractory IBS, migraine, fibromalgia or other chronic symptoms, schedule an initial consultation with Katrin.
